Request: Option to Delete Card's History

I'd like to request the option to delete the history from one of your cards -- eliminate all stats acquired in previous seasons. If any extra training has to disappear with it, that's fine.

I don't pretend to know all the ins and outs of server loads and data storage, and how much these accumulated stats matter in that regard. But surely eliminating a bunch of lines of code from your data storage can only be a benefit, right?

That's your bit.

In my own strive to ensure all the cards that I own come in mint condition, I promptly sell any cards that pop up with stats (some of which only seem to show up a week later, which is annoying in itself). I know others do the same. But I've grown tired of this. Commission costs on higher-priced cards are too high to always be buying and re-selling the same card. I just want my cards clean, and a button to do so would save a lot of time and anguish.

That's my bit.

I like to see the stats when I first get a card so I can see how it's done. It can be useful if it's accumulated enough stats at the same league level I'm at. But then I'd like to hide them so I can only see the stats they've accumulated for me. If this is possible, it would be a better solution in my opinion. Perhaps an option to auto-hide stats from previous owners could be implemented so people who don't like seeing them will never see them, but people like me can look if they're interested.

Edit: Somehow, I didn't notice you said the user would delete the stats on his side, I was thinking you said the server would remove the stats.

The previous training on a card is useless because you can't see it before you buy. So I would be happy to forego the training on a card to eliminate the previous stats. I want the career totals to be from only my team, and I dislike seeing award badges earned for some other owner.

Yeah I'm just saying I want it to be an option. Don't want to take anyone else's fun away. Why I default to the purge-all-stats option is because perhaps it will be a net benefit to OOTP's data storage costs/load, but I dunno how much that will matter. Just want to offer a positive aspect to OOTPD so this is not just seen as a selfish request.

If WAR, ZR, and a handful of other stats are being recalculated each and every new season, then I would think this would help ease the server load, at least during league creation.

This should not be an argument for this request, because in a perfect world this should not be happening in the first place.

I bought a Brooks Robinson card that had lots of stats over many years and was fully trained at SS, 2B and 1B.....I understand it bothers some but those stats appearing rank 8721 on my list of perfect team worries.

It may be #8721 on your list but it's #1 for me. Like I said I'm not trying to take away anyone else's fun. Just asking for a button option to push in a drop-down menu or something.

I kinda like seeing prior performance/etc so I can make up storylines as to why that player got traded/let go from their prior team (especially if they actually did well).... but as long as any stat-clearing option was defaulted to 'keep prior team data' and made each user check off 'clear prior team stats' or the like (perhaps a check-box in the settings), I can't see an issue with making it an option

Hey that's fine. Not attacking you for it being your #1. It's so far down my list of important improvements I can't see it without a telescope, that's all I'm saying.
