Zen and the art of baseball franchise management

If a scout scouts the players and gives them ratings, who scouts the scouts to give them ratings?

What came first, the scout or the scouting report on the scout?

The truly sad thing is that I just found myself spending the last minute actually mulling over your question LOL.
Why do I do such things?

Anyway, the chicken came first.

You can't say that because at one time, they had not even performed yet. I think the answer is somewhere around reputation, not so much performance.

Ah my friend, the egg came first!!!

The egg hatched and out came a chicken.

But the egg was not laid by a chicken oh no it was laid by the creature that came before the chicken on the evolutionary scale

That age old question is answered very easily by the theory of evolution.

And where did that creature came from?

You ever hear of Ockham's Razor?

"The simplest explanation is usually the best one" or something like that.

This is where religion debates start because you could say God created us but who created him. . .and so on. Why not stop at us and just say that we're here because we're here, only dealing with what we know and not making things complicated.

In terms of evolution, the "thing" that had the chicken was begat by something else. . .and so on. Of course we can only speculate. But yes, I do agree that the egg came first.

That is what the religious debate is all about, and don't turn that thread into another flame war!

Aren't you arguing that the chicken came first? If some organism "begat" or developed into the chicken, then wouldn't the non-egg producing organism develop into an egg producing organism (the chicken) and then that chicken hatched the egg?

Chicken vs. Egg

The question of whether or not the Chicken or Egg came first is really not the important question. Rather, what everyone is really trying to figure out is: "Who came up with the sheer genious to make an omelet?" Fortunately, I can answer that.

Quote:
...and God spake and said, 'Let there be eggs of all kinds, to hatch the creatures that will inhabit this world that I have created.' And God saw that the eggs were good. And after the eggs had hatched and the creatures had matured and layed more eggs, God saw that those eggs were also good. So He took three of those eggs and said to Himself, 'These eggs shall be my breakfast, and all will call this breakfast feast an omelet, for I have commanded it.' - Fabrications 1:45
So you see... the egg came first, followed by the chickens, and then the omelet.

Considering most scouts, there is no evidence of any intelligent design, that's for damn sure.

I can't believe I just read, and am now adding to, a thread whose majority of posts concern the temporal proximity of the first chicken and the first egg to now.
