More/Better Play Ball Links
I think there should be more than the one screen that has a link to click on to play a game out.
It's always seemed odd to me that it was the scores screen that got to have those links, it's not the default screen and "scores" implies something after the fact, not before. If you're new to the game I have to imagine you end up wandering around trying to find out how to play a game. I remember there was one time where I took a good amount of time off from playing the game and even I couldn't remember how to play out a game. I had to find it in the manual.
There should definitely be a link on the playoff coverage screens, that's an emphasized screen. There's a box link there after the game, you can put a play ball link there before. You could also put a link in the upcoming opponents messages. There is a play ball link on the manager home screen, but you have to scroll to see it so unless you know it's there, you don't. That's an easy fix, put it higher up, above the opponent's logo. There should definitely be a link on the schedule screen because that has got to be the most obvious place users would look first to find it. There should also be an option in the play menu to play out games even if you're not associated with a team because as it is now there's no link and your only option is to discover the scores screen. Want to watch the WS, but you're not in it? As it is now, you're out of luck unless you know about the scores screen.
I also think the watch game link on the scores screen shouldn't be disabled in you're in commissioner mode. I leave myself in commissioner mode while I'm being a GM just so I see and can do things only a commish can do, but as commish you don't see that link and you don't realize that the manage link does the same thing if you want. Likewise, keep a watch link for your team's games as I'm sure plenty of people only want to watch as a GM too and with only the manage link they might worry that they have to manage.
Finally, we should re-consider naming the quick-play link to sim or something as it's not clear that you won't get to actually see the game. In fact, if you consider the "quick-play bar" at the bottom of the screen when you're playing out a game I have to imagine there might be some who mistake that clicking that link will bring up a window with options like the quick play bar when instead it sims the game and then it's too late to see it.
