Leave it to me but...
I just keep catching so many little things. It's the reasons why people say this title (OOTP) is not polished and tight. Mind you, I am using annual prospect reports. Here is a catcher I recently traded for.
![]() Notice his prospect ranking. Now here is the BA annual prospect report.

Player get removed from the report when they lose "prospect" status, which is when they're either 26 or older or have more than 45 days of MLB service.
That is by design. So, I think this feature is polished & tight

Which makes perfect sense according to what Markus said,

Just different reviewers and posters on other boards. I am home now and can confirm the player in question DOES in fact have more than 45 days of service, so this is my mistake...as I did not realize. |

From what I have seen and read, these people are in a very small minority and on this board it is mostly just you and a few others (who may have been booted).
This game is more "polished" and "tight" than any other game I have ever played on any platform. It is a credit to Markus and company how they treat their paying customers and just as importantly, how they treat their product. It would seem to me that they truly care about what they put out there, as judged by the consistent updates, the interaction with their customers, and their many instances of actually listening to what their customers want and trying their best to get it into the game. I just don't understand the constant criticism from you for this game. If you dislike it so much, don't play it. |

The problem is I am trying to better the game. It is a very good game, but I just want to see it be great. Maybe you take criticism as a negative thing, but I am just trying to point out things that may or may not need looking at.

I have to defend the Colonel here. He has posted on these forums for a very long time, and he has contributed a lot of valuable points and suggestions.
I militantly support the right of any customer to be as critical and vocal as he or she deems necessary to vent frustration and ask for improvements. Every company should have the decency and the courage to face criticism and open discussion. So should other forum posters. Fortunately, OOTP Developments has shown those qualities, and so have most of the people who post here regularly. There were numerous times when I lambasted OOTP Developments during my first couple of years on these forums, so I can appreciate the frustration and passion that some people express. It's a sign of how much potential they see in the game and how badly they want to see their concerns addressed. In recent years, I have mellowed and my postings are almost always positive. But this is because Markus and the crew did not shy away. They actually took my suggestions and complaints into account, and they have implemented all but one of my biggest requests. Hence, I have minimal reason for criticism these days. The Colonel may get there as well. But it won't happen by him being less vocal or less critical. So I say, keep it going! |

I understand the need and desire for constructive criticism, but to me it seems that PSU Colonel is doing nothing but trying blast the game. If I am wrong, I apologize.

I think the Colonel was man enough to admit his mistake, and it was a pretty honest one. I never knew this, so it was worth it to me.

Amazingly Markus set the record straight within 38 minutes.
How about that! |

I still find 12 to be unplayable with financials. I have stuck to playing 11 as default financials in 12 just don't work and I am seriously done messing around with them to try and get them right.

I would also appreciate it if you would elaborate. I bought OOTP12 only recently and have not had much time to spend with it yet.

It seems that superstar players don't quite demand appropriately high contracts (Manny Ramirez at 6.7 million in 2002 for the Seattle Mariners, who could also afford Alex Rodriguez), which makes it much easier for middle-tier real world franchises to get fantastically excellent rosters at prices that they can afford. It's not a bad thing if you're a fan of one of those franchises, but it doesn't really model historical financial development of the league. |
