As of right now, we're tied for first in the AL west.

OK, 161-1 then.
Four errors in a game is not going to result in W very often. |

Exactly my thinking! Serves you all right anyway for robbing Casey Kotchman of a hit.
Also, good LORD was Tim Tschida awful tonight or what? I think what the game came down to was that he refused to call anything in the lower third of the plate from around the 5th inning on, and the Mariners had more flyball pitchers than the A's did.

Yeah, the umpiring did leave much to be desired. I <3 Rajaii though, that was a nice sell on the dive in center.
![]() If Cliffy Pennington hadn't gotten himself thrown out at third in the 7th and if Kouz hadn't airmailed it in the 9th we might have had a different result. Oh well, at least we don't have to face King Felix every day. |

Yea, when he double clutched the ball instead of not tagging the runner, I just knew the throw would be off. Gack. We were suppose to be a better fielding team.

Wish I could have seen it. F'ing Comcast gouging other cable companies for the A's channel.

Dallas Braden has 9 K's through 6 IP, which is a career high.
Big difference watching him tonight vs. Sheets last night. |

And the only one to blame for the A's sucking is Al Davis. |

And Billy Beane. TBH though, the A's aren't far off. They'll surprisingly contend next year, then Billy Beane will trade all good players for prospects, and all will be back to normal.

2nd and 3rd with 1 out... and the A's can score. It's game 2 of the season and I'm already getting pissed at this team.

Sometimes the hits just fall. I can't be too sad about this because the M's started Ian Snell, had a horrendous performance by their offense, and still took the game into extra innings. Fun game all around.

A's fan here. Sad to see them only draw 10,000 fans in only the second game of the season. They drew ~30,000 on opening night. I guess I did not help matters, I was watching the game at home tonight.

I'm surprised to see that Sheets started on opening night, but he didn't do that badly. A lot of walks, but the butterflies had to be swarming. Great outing by Braden. Looks like they will be leaning heavily on their pitching since their offense looks anemic so far.

It's typical of weekday night games so I wasn't surprised to see that.

Unfortunately, we're going to have a bunch of 2-1 games this year. But at least we pulled this one out.

Interesting to see what our lineup vs. LHP will be. I might as well take a shot at it:
CF R. Davis 2B D. Barton C K. Suzuki 3B K. Kouzmanoff DH J. Fox 2B M. Ellis RF R. Sweeney LF Travis Buck SS C. Pennington Basically Sweeney should be moved down in the order ... his splits vs. LHP are poor. In addition, Fox takes the right-handed hitting half of the DH platoon, as has been reported elsewhere. I have a good feeling about Duke making his first start in two seasons in a game that counts after his brilliant 6 shutout innings in his final pre-season tune-up. |
