In a historical league with league expansion turned on 'automatic', does that include minor leagues? Ie, will the computer create minor leagues when historically appropriate, or will I have to do it manually?

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine the game would create the extra minor league teams too because if it didn't then there'd probably be some major problems. The manual doesn't explicitly say so though.

You could easily test it by copying your league folder.

I'm pretty sure minor leagues don't expand appropriately historically. If you have X minor league levels, when there is expansion, the new team gets X minor leagues, but this is independent of anything (names, proper number of leagues, etc.) in real life.

Yeah, what he said. Minor leagues are not paid any attention to in a historical context in OOTP. They exist only to service the major leagues.
