Need Help with Vista and OOTP 6.5

I recently bought a laptop and put ootp 6.12 and ootp 6.5 on it. ootp 6.12 works fine, but whenever I try to get ootp 6.5 to work, it changes the display settings on my laptop and messes up my screen and the game never runs, instead I get an error saying it could not retrieve the license. Can someone please help me?

Did you install it using Admin rights? After that, I've also found that you have to "Run as Admin" when you want to open it.

Not sure if I installed it using admin rights, but I right click and tried to run it as the admin and had the same results. Its like the game wants to run, but my screen settings and graphics setting won't allow it. Also I get an error that says something along the lines of, "sorry we could not retrive your license at this time."

Hmm, I remember there was once some talk about certain graphics cards not working well, but I think that was OOTP2006, not OOTP6. Since OOTP6 is like 5 years old now, though, maybe it's just not compatible with your newer graphics card. I don't know, it's just a guess.

As for the license error, that sounds like something you'd get if you're not connected to the internet. Maybe it just cut out at the wrong moment. You could contact viatech about it.

I don't think it is an internet connection issue, i guess the graphics card doesn't work.
