BZ 1488, 1489: Disabled List Problem

When I try to remove a player from the DL who has been on the 60 Day DL and I want to put in the minors it will not let me drag and drop him to the 40 man roster if he has a ML contract. The only way I can get him off the DL is to either send him to the active roster and then demote him or to DFA him then demote him. It also will not let me move them by using the action box.

Has the player's injury healed and you're trying to reinstate him? Or are you trying to send the player to the minors while he's still on the DL?

Was he in the minors before you DLd him?

If he was on the major league active roster and he's out of option years then, I'm not sure, but I don't think you should be able to demote him from the DL.

Injury has healed, DL time is up. They were in the majors when put on the DL, but I am trying to send them to the minors afterward. They are not out of options. It is always a player who was put on the 60 day DL and therefore removed from the 40 man roster when he went on.

Is this happening in a historical league or a fictional league?

OK, I am trying to reconstruct. I have Rios on the 60-day DL (he went there from my active roster). I try to drag and drop him to Triple-A but get no error message or anything. It just leaves him in the DL slot. Normally you should get an error here saying the player with a contract must be on the 40-man roster. (BZ #1488)

Next I try to drag and drop Rios from the 60-day DL to the 40 man roster and nothing happens. He stays on the DL and is not added to the 40 man roster. I also can not right click to add this player back to my 40-man roster even though he is healthy and his DL time has expired. (BZ #1489)

rwd59, have I covered the issues in the two bugs outlined above?

I think the game will require that a player with a major league contract goes on the 40-man roster before he can be sent to the minors. You shouldn't have to put him on the active roster first to do that however. We should have the option to add him to the 40-man roster and then try to demote to the minors. If the player doesn't accept then you should have to waive them and if they clear try to demote again. At that point if they refuse (they have too much ML service time and have the right to refuse) then you either release them or find a spot on the active roster for them.

EDIT: I see I did, you posted while I was writing this.

Yes it does. Hence my saying that it was only a problem with players coming off the 60 Day DL. Thanks for duplicating my problem. Now how about some help on the Rule 5 problem I have found.

BZ 1488: Marked as something to address later.

BZ 1489: Markus states that you need to drop him on the active roster.
