I have like 500 members and I'm getting a bunch of porn spam crap. How do I fix this?

What board are you using? Many offer the ability to require admin approval for registration. This will prevent spammers from posting unless you approve their accounts.

Some sites use CAPTCHA of course, but I prefer where you have to answer a question where someone interested in what your forum would probably know, but not everybody would. For instance, for baseball forums you can use baseball trivia, but you don't want to make it too hard for even casual baseball fans to know, just hard enough so that those 3rd world spammers would probably have to google the answer first and so they'd probably just go to the next site on their list instead.
