With Japan and US both 1 & 1, Japan beats Korea and US wins against Mexico. Then both are 2:1, with the US advancing woohoo that tag up call.

You forgot Korea will be 2-1 in that scenario as well. The US will probably win against Mexico so Japan needs to win against Korea. If both of those things happen then all but Mexico will be tied in that pool. Then it will go to the tiebreakers and since Korea and Japan both have big leads in them over the US so far, they'll get in over the US as long as neither Korea nor Japan score a whole lot of runs in their game. Their first game Korea won 3-2 over Japan.

In pool #2 the DR is through with the winner of PR - Cuba to join them. PR destroyed Cuba 12-2 in their 1st rd match-up.

Everything is made simple if Korea wins. If Korea wins, then our destiny is in our own hands. Roger Clemens can stitch it up for us again.

And if Korea loses, the U.S. has virtually no chance, as I believe all Japan has to do is allow 7 runs or fewer in their win.

It should be interesting. Of course, Korea has already beaten Japan once.

I think it is Japan has to score 7 runs or more in a win. Then Korea would be eliminated. A Japan victory with less than 7 runs means Korea & Japan advance.
