How to make online experience more enjoyable?

I would like advice on something. I am in an online league and I really want to enjoy myself. Despite the fact that I am doing everything I have time for, I am just not having that much fun. Sometimes I have to force myself to download the league file and do my exports. I almost dread having to look up trades when they are offered because it always seems the people are underestimating my players. To top it all off, I seem to be getting burned by rules that I didn’t know where there. I don’t want to quit the league; I just want to make myself enjoy it more. What do you suggest?

Personally I don't think you should have to force your self to enjoy a league. There are plenty of leagues out there that provide varying degrees of everything, so chances are there is one out there that will meet your needs.

You're not sounding very "clutch". However, I have joined leagues that I didn't enjoy for one reason or another. So maybe it is the league, not you and you should quit. I think the most important thing is to establish what you want out of the online league experience. I know some that are purely out to win and others who play online for the fun and to enjoy OOTP with like minded people. I agree jdettbarn that online play isn't something you should force yourself to enjoy. You either do or you don't. Good luck.

at various time i have found myself not enjoying any online league i was in. But after sometime the feeling passes, I guess I get into a funk every now and hen and just plow through .

But you are sounding different, maybe online leagues arn't for you, or this particular league isn't for you. Evaluating players is an iffy business so don't take it personal, just a quick reject notice is all thats needed.

Look for a league with simple rules & give that a try so now rules can jump up and bite you.

i'd have to agree here. My first league I got burned on a few deals and a rep for being a rube seems to stick around for a while

my adviceregarding trades is objectivly compare what they're offereing to what they want it return; is it fair, will hit help your team both short and long term? if it's yes to both, that shoudl weed out the shady deals

Have you ever enjoyed an online league? If you have, what exactly about it did you enjoy?

I myself probably like rule discussions the most. I also just like watching the league unfold, watching who ends up being great players, the playoff races, etc. One thing that I'm not really into very much that I know some are into very much are trade talks. I won't automatically say no or never post my trade haves and needs, but arguing over trades just isn't much fun to me.

Different people enjoy different things. Maybe you haven't found what it is that you might like about them. Maybe there's nothing any online league would do for you. Or maybe there's just nothing that specific league could do for you. Then again, like jazz said, sometimes you just get into a funk which may or may not pass. I know I've gotten into those.

Maybe setting goals for yourself and eventually accomplishing them might do something for you. Maybe you should try another league, one as different as possible from your existing one, to see if there's something about it that does it for you.
