Text too small on laptop

This must be a common issue but I can't find answer through google.

I have a new laptop and the text is appearing way too small, I changed the setting to larger text but it doesn't seem to make any difference - even when I exit and re-launch the game.

I usually play on desktop so haven't experienced this before.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Just how small is your laptop display resolution? If on PC, right-click on your desktop, select Display Settings, then look at Display Resolution.

I ask because if it's not that small then it may be something else that is wrong. But if it's really really small then you might be out of luck.

I remember years ago my regular laptop was busted so I had to use an old Yoga for a little while and the resolution was so small that Markus changed some stuff around just to make it viewable (I probably wasn't the only person trying to run it at such a small resolution). As time goes on, however, less and less people use a really small display so it's less worth it to make sure the game works on them.

If you open OOTP 26 and everything is so small you can't read it on 4k and 8k (1400 and 2160 resolutions) there is a very simple fix built into OOTP.

Click on settings either on the OOTP main page or if you are in a game and click on file. Click on Expert and down where it says "Use windows DPI scaling" turn that to Always Off and then close the game and reopen it and your font and scaling will look like it did in earlier versions.

Alternately, you may want to set it to Always On, for some users that will actually yield better scaling for you.

This does nothing for FHM. That fixes the issue in OOTP but FHM does not have an Expert tab nor does it have any options or checkboxes anywhere about DPI scaling.

For FHM you could try the following:

Start the game with the following command line argument: "DisableHighDpiScaling" (without the "").

Does that help at all or does it make it worth?

Sorry for the delay in replying, I'm not really sure what the above means but my laptop res is 2880 x 1800. Is that ok for OOTP and do I need to change anything?

We started to work on this topic for FHM 13 at the moment.

@Colorado: after rereading the thread I´m not sure if your problem is with OOTP or FHM?
