Thanks for the response. I saw some strange things too when I was doing historical leagues in ootp5 using the Lahman database. But this time there were more than one and rather strange ones. Basically benching good players in favor of unproven, modesty rated prospects, often quite unknown.
I thought it was maybe related to the new system used in ootp6, weighting 4 different criteria to make the computer decide who he plays in what situation.
I would be interested in the tests you did and plan to do in your previous post
