My issue isn't so much the number of fouls, it's the unrealistic player actions associated with them.
I see a LOT of "foul ball, Beltre is there, but the ball is 10 rows back," or diving foul attempts at the foul line where balls go out of play.
It's like...most baseball players are going to be capable of determining whether or not a ball looks like it's going to be playable. They may get over in the area if it's borderline, but you don't see the catcher tearing for the screen on a ball that gets fouled into the top deck at Dodger Stadium, for example.
