American League: 2009

Phoenix finishes the regular season as west division champs and table champions with a 71–49 record, securing their table trophy. In the East, the Chicago Blue Collars (70–50) finally break through to claim their first division crown and their first playoff appearance in franchise history. Meanwhile, a major era ends as the Washington Grays miss the postseason for the first time since 2001—only the second time they’ve missed October in league history.

Both wildcard spots come from the West this year. The Hill Country Skyhawks (68–52) take the top wildcard, followed by the Seattle Aquasox (64–56). The appearance marks the first time Seattle has made the bracket in the AL.

In the semifinals, Phoenix leveraged their higher seed advantage to handle Seattle 4–2. On the other side, the Blue Collars dispatched the Skyhawks 4–2 to set up a heavyweight battle for the bracket title.

The ALCS went the distance as Chicago and Phoenix battled in a classic seven-game set. In the end, Phoenix took Game 7 at home to win their first bracket title. By sweeping both championships, the Serpientes take home the "Double" for the 2009 season.
