Well, giving up a player (admittedly probably over-the-hill) by turning him into a coach, and getting high coach ratings, does not strike me as a cheat. In the sense that even the best coach is going to have a slight, attenuated, delayed effect on player development and team performance.

I assumed that the high ratings were a result of the guy already knowing the team and the players and having credibility as a former player. But I do appreciate that coaching is a distinct skill set, and not every player will be a good coach (and generally a learning curve is involved...).
