Rose was worth -2.5 WAR his last 5 years in the league (82-86), many of which featured himself as his own manager. He was of course above replacement level for his career but he absolutely tacked on some awful play at the end to surpass Ty Cobb (who also wasn’t exactly a picture of great character).
