Token protests ("Mariano being unanimous was a joke! Let's not do that again!") and shoutouts ("Grandy ain't getting in, but let's give him a vote for old-times' sake") have gone on forever. No need to kvetch about them.
It's about electing the right people, not getting hundreds of voters to vote in lockstep. Deserving people got in, undeserving people got dropped. Job well done.
(I'm a lot more annoyed at people thinking that Francisco "K-Rud" Rodriguez deserves election for getting in brawls in the family room and blowing save after save…but I am a Mets fan.)
