It's preceded by
two consecutive hyphens, which are used to represent an em dash. So it's like an extension of what comes before it, the previous line, which does say the team name.
I'm personally not a big fan of
em dashes as they can be confusing and their use is often questionable (they're often used instead of colons or parentheses, but they're probably best used when you want something stronger sounding than parentheses or commas), but yeah, that's what is going on there.
