GIMP can read Photoshop files natively, but has a bit steeper of a learning curve. Paint.NET is a bit simpler, but requires a plugin to read Photoshop files.
I would rather die than use paint.net again. I'm not switching back to gimp and I'd rather just bite the bullet. I don't give a [expletive] what others think.
