MLB news: August 19 -- Cards' Charle and Twins' Buxton suspended for throwing down
Major League Baseball has suspended St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Sandi Charle and Minnesota Twins outfielder Bryan Buxton for two games apiece after a bench-clearing brawl in the eighth inning of the Twins' 15-9 win on August 29.
Charle hit Buxton with a pitch after giving up a three-run home run to Brooks Lee causing Buxton to pay a visit to the mound.
Buxton had already homered three times in the first two games of the series.
