New to 24, runners can now steal and with a lopsided score or where there are other situations where teams don't care if there's a runner on 2nd as opposed to 1st (for example, a runner on 3rd in the bottom of the 9th) the catcher will choose not to throw. The game now properly scores these attempts as defensive indifference and does not reward a steal. However, the play-by-play still lists a steal as being recorded.
