Certainly if you're not too far into a game, it won't require a restart of the game unless if you need whatever is included in the roster update. As for the rest, most of the issues will end up resolving over time. Even right now, if anyone is worried about league financials, you can always increase the default financials in the league to give everyone more money. Any changes in player creation or development will take time to work their way into a league no matter what league you are playing. Although even there, in the worst case the drafts will run "hot" for a few years before cooling back to normal - from what we have seen, it's not like drastic changes, but lots of little changes to make sure the balance stays reasonable.
