I expect the Cards will have to go shopping for a catcher, unless they have the next Mike Matheny or Darrell Porter or Ted Simmons or Tim McCarver, of a sort, already in their farm system, somehow. I'm not too sold on their entire outfield yet, either, and I really don't like the DH, you know, as well. The Cardinals also need better bats and better defense, and more speed, among other things they need. They ought not to carry pitchers that can't really pitch well, either, for more than five or six innings a start, or perform well for at least an inning-plus out of the bullpen, for that matter.
