I don't think we should draw any conclusions from the results of 1 year of 5-game series. Now if they were 7-game series and we saw more lower seeds win than higher seeds over a 10-year period, then yeah, maybe there really is an issue with the extra rest. But this? No.
I can't even get that upset at my teams losing. It's, "oh well, the coin just came up wrong, maybe next year". And I think that apathy is far more of a problem than maybe too much rest.
