Walkers news: April 14 -- Cincinnati 4, St. Louis 3

Record: 4-8, 6th, 5 GB Cedar Rapids
Tied 1-1, Cincinnati scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning and the River Sharks went on to defeat St. Louis 4-3 at Riverfront Stadium (1984).
A two-out RBI double from Quiang Chang off Cincy starting pitcher Danny Garza in the top of the third had tied the game.
Garza got things going against River Walkers starter Kevin Hrdlicka in the bottom of half, drawing a lead-off walk.
A passed ball by catcher Alex Stewart moved Garza to second and he scored on a Kerry Fackelman double.
Fackelman later scored on a two-out single by Cory Vallie.
With Hrdlicka still on the mound, the Sharks pushed their lead to 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth.
Tom Aloisio drew a one-out walk and moved to second on a wild pitch.
Johnathan Hodges scored Aloisio with a two-out single.
Mark Herman pulled St. Louis within a run when he hit a two-run homer off reliever Nate Finck in the top of the sixth.
That, however, would be the end of the scoring.
Garza, who worked 4.1 innings, allowing one run on three hits, and five relievers combined to strike out 12 batters.
Garza struck out six and walked one.
Finck (4-0) gave up the final two Walkers runs while finishing the fifth inning and also working the sixth.
He earned his fourth win of the season.
Doug Cline worked a scoreless seventh inning.
The eighth was a combination of Manny Fajardo (0.2 IP) and Sammy Rodriguez (0.1).
Justin Roberson allowed a one-out hit to pinch-hitter Tommy Gardner in the ninth.
But he struck out the next two to notch his second save of the season.
