One big thing to bear in mind about scouting discoveries is that those are 16 year olds and tend to be very, very inconsistent in terms of actually coming through on their potential, far less consistent even than 18 year olds (who are already very inconsistent in the game). My experience is that once that washes out, 20, 30 years down the line you do *not* see the major leagues dominated by international players. There are still a lot of them of course - in today’s MLB almost 30% of all players in the major leagues were born outside of the US and the game reflects that - but I still see a lot of higher round draft picks in there as well (if anything the draft is too stable but that’s another issue entirely).
Perhaps the game should just exclude players in international complexes from top 100/200 lists entirely? I do feel like those folks would/should be mostly unknown until they started playing in games that count…
