June recap - division leaders:
Lager League - Pilsner Division: Firefly Hollow Dire Chinchilla - in a rather unexpected turn of events, Firefly Hollow finds themselves atop the division standings after a mediocre 12-13 month. With most of their offensive team stats ranking in double digits, they are riding a solid defense (4th ranked in errors, 6th ranked in runs against) and starting pitching (5th ranks in starters ERA)
Lager League - Kolsch Division: Laughing Sun Red Dwarf - Kolsch remains the division no one wants to win, as Laughing Sun sits atop the standings with a sub par 38-40 record. Youngster Danny Hooper (21 years old) is having a stellar season on the mound so far, with a 7-0 record and 3.56 ERA in 16 starts
Lager League - Helles Division: Ballast Point Commodores - a solid 17-9 month of June helped move Ballast Point back to the top of the standings with a slim 1 game lead. First baseman Justin Bahr continues to swing a hot bat, with a .365 average to lead the team.
Lager League - Tripel Division: Horsefly Jazzy Razzy - the Jazzy Razzy are clicking on all cylinders with another solid month (18-9) to take a 4 game lead into July. The team ranks 1st in runs scored, OPS, batting WAR, wOBA, home runs, runs against, Bullpen ERA, FIP, pitching WAR, and strikeouts.
Stout League - Porter Division: Funky Buddha Huki Idol - top notch pitching is the power behind the Huki Idol, as they rank 1st in bullpen ERA, 2nd in FIP, and 3rd in starters ERA. Ace starter Bobby Rodriguez continues to add to his all-time best wins with a 7-2 record and 2.97 ERA
Stout League - Dunkel Division: Four Hands Typhon - despite going just 13-12 for the month of June, Four Hands still holds a 4 game lead in the division. Starting pitcher Joel Ruest is having a career year, with an 11-4 record and 2.81 ERA (all time best in wins is 15).
Stout League - Eisbock Division: Russian River Blind Pig/Prairie Sun Mad Hopper - Prairie Sun took advantage of a 13-14 month for the Blind Pig, going 18-10 themselves to pull into a tie for the division lead. Russian River's Joey Stokman has slipped off his .400 pace and sits at .382 for the season.
Stout League - Altbier Division: Thimble Island Kraken - in one of the toughest divisions in the league, Thimble Island's 49-27 record (.645) is only good enough for a 1.5 game lead, as Toboggan holds the third best record in the league at 48-29. Closer Dave Salazar continues to be unhittable in the final innings, with a microscopic 0.32 ERA and 23 saves.
