I'm not set on Dunnellon, but I grew up there myself and now I teach there. It'd be pretty cool since we are a small school and I graduated in 97 myself. We've always had a competitive baseball team, and around that time we had a Little League group that fed to the high school that had a lot of talented guys. Most went on to play other sports though... anyhow, I think I have this fixed up now. Hope this league happens... I'm off for summer soon and this seems like a good thing to keep me occupied. Optional Short Bio: Maximus, or Max for short grew up all his life in a small central Florida city where he was extremely popular. He was named after his mother’s favorite Marvel Comic Character, Maximus. As a child, she loved comics but her family grew up impoverished so the only books she read were hand-me-downs from her three older brothers. None of them liked the Maximus storylines that began in Fantastic Four, but his mother, Daphne, took a liking to his super human intelligence. Although she hoped Maximus would excel in school, he was never the best academically.
His father, David grew up on a farm and inherited his family’s acreage when his parents passed after he served four years as a Marine. He had planned to re-enlist, but his family business took him away from his ambitions. He always threw himself into his work and is a tall, strong man with a hardened work ethic.
He is a four sport star, playing PG for the basketball team, QB for the football team, golf, and of course SP/RP for his baseball team. He is a throwback pitcher whose arm never seems to tire. He has a gun for an arm at such a young age due to all the hard work he’s put in helping on the farm.
His parents own over 100 acres of farmland, so Max was almost always outside as a kid. The neighborhood was full of other kids his age that also loved sports. After school, they’d play every sport out there. During the summers, his maternal grandfather would take him golfing three times a week while his parents worked (His mom teaches Psychology at the high school he goes to.) He developed great discipline and was a low handicap player by the time he started high school.
Although he pitches right handed, he bats left handed. His grandfather was a left handed golfer and taught him to hit from that side where he feels more comfortable.
