April recap:

Lager League: Pilsner Division - Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot - picking up where they left off from last year's regular season, Weyerbacher bolted out of the gate to a 17-5 month of April and a 6.5 game lead in the division. While they did lose a number of players to free agency, fans will still recognize a large number of players. Shortstop Antonio Santistevan is off to a hot start, leading the teams with a .341 average, 5 home runs and 18 RBIs. Newly acquired closer (and Beer League all-time saves leader with 82 in his first two seasons) Steve Armstrong is as solid as ever with a 1-0 record, 5 saves and an 0.75 ERA to start off the year with his new club.

Lager League: Kolsch Division - Laughing Sun Red Dwarf - It's all smiles for Laughing Sun to start the 2022 season as they are off to a 14-7 month of April and a 2.5 game lead in the division. Right fielder Dave Duncan is off to a solid start with a .308 average, 4 home runs and 18 RBIs to help power the offense.

Lager League: Helles Division - Waikiki Ala Moana - after a .500 finish in 2020 and a 104 loss season in 2021, the last thing Waikiki fans expected was to see their club on top of the Helles division.... ever. With the help of the weakest division in the Lager League, Waikiki's 11-11 month of April was enough to give them a 1 game lead in the division. Newly acquired left fielder Justin Cabrera is doing all he can to impress his new team as he leads the league with 9 home runs and 21 RBIs (last season he hit 16 home runs all season in 612 at bats).

Lager League: Tripel Division - Meadowlark Mob Barley - a familiar spot for Meadowlark, they hold a slim 1 game lead with a 14-6 record to start the year. Surprisingly, Dylan Ruhl and Steve Jabusch share the team lead in batting with a less than impressive .247 average (hitting across the league is down to start the year).

Stout League: Porter League - tie: Three Floyds Apocalypse Cow / Funky Buddha Huki Idol - In one of the tighest races, with only 3 games separating first from last, Three Floyds and Funky Buddha sit tied atop the standings with identical 11-10 records. Three Floyds is hoping to build off last year's playoff appearance, while Funky Buddha is looking to reverse their trend where they lost 84 games in 2020 and 94 games in 2021. Fans and management hope the addition of Stout League single season hits leader Roberto Frausto in the off season will help propel them not only to a winning record for the first time, but a post season appearance as well.

Stout League: Dunkel Division - Rabid Dwarves of Doom - the good news for Rabid fans, their team is in first place in their division.... the bad news for Rabid fans, they are still sub-500, with a record of 10-11 to start the year.

Stout League: Eisbock Division - Kona Pipeline - led by slugger Rico Mendieta (11 home runs, 28 RBIs, .319 average), Kona holds a slim 1 game lead in the division with their 14-7 record to start the year. Ace pitcher Brendan Poole is doing his part from the mound, with a 4-0 record and 2.08 ERA (Poole won 9 games in 2020 and 7 games in 2021, so already halfway to his career single season best).

Stout League: Altbier Division - Stony Creek Crankenstein - in the toughest division in the Beer League, Stony Creek's 15-7 record is only good enough for a 1 game lead over Toboggan, 1.5 games over Odious Cellars and 2.5 over Tattered Flag, as the division has four teams with winning percentages of .571 or greater.
