It's not really even a "better" thing when it comes to Greed; a player with a higher Greed will just look for more money in contracts. If they're still on their rookie deal, it won't matter much at all. If they're in arbitration it won't matter a whole lot either. If you're willing to be the highest bidder, it won't matter much. It's really only when you're dealing with a veteran and you're trying to convince them to take a hometown discount or to sign for less to play for a winning team that it really comes into effect.
