The new hockey stadium probably presents the best chance but unless the NBA expands, probably not. The NBA has gone out of their way to prevent teams from moving to Seattle, even going so far as to allow the Kings to be purchased by a known fraudster (and using the down payment from the Seattle ownership group to pay for it at that), and I can’t see them using our city as anything but a means to hold another set of fans hostage.
Even expansion, frankly, is probably only going to come when the league decides that some other city needs a team and then tosses Seattle in as an add-in. So root for Pittsburgh or Kansas City, I guess.
