OK? And I will guess that he is in fact one of the worst fielding CFs in the game. What does his ZR look like? In any case, it looks like his hitting made up for that, and I would not expect him to start there with any regularity, but yes, the AI can make decisions like that too.

I think the only position where you really can't make as many glove v bat decisions is at catcher, and that's because there simply aren't that many players who can catch. I personally also don't like putting guys with straight up 20/80 arms or overall fielding ratings behind the plate, which seems to be a thing with older players more than it is with inexperienced ones, but I do think that IRL you see more, like, .190 hitters with no peripherals starting significant games at C than you do in CF and SS even though those are bigger impact positions on defense (also there's the fact that, barring injury, one good SS or CF can start 95% of your games whereas you always have to factor in, say, 20% of your catchers' innings going to the backup).
