Yeah, I think 21 is heads and tails ahead of 20 in terms of the 3D. TBH as recently as 19 I was like "I don't see the point" but I've grown to really, really appreciate it. The added ability to use more camera angles is nice, as is the incrementally better animation. There are more of them than there used to be and fewer of the really silly ones (for instance, they got rid of the Bugs Bunny throw from pitcher to first or vice versa on a play towards that base that ended with an infield hit).
I'm sure that 22 will be better than 21 in this respect but the same can probably be said about any/all future versions.
