...and like BABIP, the "initial data" is from the late 1990s, and the other stuff has been around for more than a decade, and if you came in saying "pitchers have no effect on BABIP" and then people said "Charlie Hough and Mariano Rivera" and you said "like I said, most pitchers only have a small effect", then you would also be accused of moving goalposts in that case.
