I should have clarified, I was just really talking about the middle section. I understand the theory behind the top section. It's just that the middle section is so off. I think you're probably right, that they wanted randomness, but with how much it varies and how far off from 1.000 the current year is when the manual says 1.00 is equivalent to modern day baseball, I can't help but wonder if something is wrong with it.
