I still believe we need to be patient, that promotion and relegation will make that occurrence (getting blown out by whales) less and less likely. It looks like my main team is under performing so badly that we will stay in the Gold league next week. All, or almost all whale teams will be promoted to diamond so Gold should be a little more competitive next week.
There will occasionally be whale teams who join late and blast their way through the lower leagues but there are currently 195 leagues so the chances of them being in our specific league is not that high, certainly not high enough that I think we will see them on a regular basis.

exactly... it's only the 3rd season... come Monday, another batch of teams will get pushed to the next level.... a bunch of those will be sub 500 teams who might take a beating in week 4...
my two f2p teams are sputtering along in the silver league (one hoping for points to buy more packs for player upgrades / the other saving points for some quality players to upgrade from the AH) and just hoping to avoid relegation... (though if that happens, at least they might put up a better fight next season

and like someone else mentioned in another thread, if you haven't used all 3 teams for your license, start up a new one now... most of the gung-ho whale types are already playing and up in the gold level, so you might find the competition in bronze more interesting right now
