I use the normal injury setting quite a bit. If my rosters allow for it, I prefer to use the high(modern day) setting. I look at the rosters in my leagues and see there are plenty of pitchers on the dl with injuries ranging from the minor to the career threatening. I can't say the same for position players. At times, I can run through my entire league and not one position player is on the disabled list. Are any of you seeing this pattern as well?
I have and TBH I'm really happy about it. One of my issues in previous years was that there were way too many position players getting longer-term injuries and not a lot of ways to get the game to tone that down. IRL pitchers are really, really volatile and injury rates are one of the biggest if not the biggest reasons why. Like, virtually every team in the league in real life has at least one pitcher on the 60-day DL either out for the season or trying to come back from a big injury. It's just how baseball works and when you run into one of those rare players who can throw and throw and throw without getting hurt you latch onto them for all that they're worth.
