by converting i assume you mean import an ootp18 league to ootp19? see below about importing player lists/stats limitations.

following real life:
normally it depends on settings... you can make it follow real life transactions and choices on recalc can make them likely* to perform in similar ways. if that history hasn't occured yet, it can't do anything etc. so, that depends on your setting choices and the last year of history included in that version of the game.

obviously, ootp19 won't have transactions from the 2018 season beyond who is on the 40-man for opening day (give or take a fringe player), since it hasn't occured, yet.

can't recalc after 2017 since it hasn't happened yet.. that's all based on historical stats. nothing to base it on, nothing to re-calc.

export/import (player lists, not entire leagues)-- can't "create" new players. also, you can't export just the player list from any league and import to a new league. technically, if you re-used existing player IDs, you can rig this to work - gets complicated and better options to accomplish same thing... the league import function between versios is your best/easiest route. you can see the option teh moment you load ootp.

you can edit exported player lists and import back to the exact same league to your heart's content, as long as you don't add new players.. you can move them around, change anythign except their player ID and must use existing team ID's, if oyu do move them to another team.. .or FA list. ie you can't create a new team, for same reasons you cannot create a new player in an exported file.

ootpXX with a real leauge of player includes amateurs for 2-3+ years worth of drafts. there are thousands included with each release. they may be slightly different ratings from one version to the next, or even already drafted in some cases.

i have at least 2 posts with instructions how to re-use existing player id's and the general hoops you'll have to jump through to import a player list from a different league.. .use google to find it... not re-typing it, lol.

maybe you can edit MAster.csv or the like and add these things for the "next" year manually. you'd probably need an ootp19 in order to export files that you could rip information from easily... which, again, would be easier to just import to ootp19 at that point... less effort to accomplish same thing. (when you "import historical players" in game, it points you to these available files, one of which is master.csv. you can use that to find location "../data/stats/" is the folder).

i don't do that stuff, but if you know anything of how dB's work you can edit them and add stuff, i assume. find other threads with similar intentions. i know people edit these thigns for all sorts of reasons.

this other post might be relevant to your situation too: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...95&postcount=9
