I've always wondered this.. When is a trade a trade? Is it a trade when one person suggests something and the other replies by email, IM, or whatever, that that is acceptable? Or is it a trade when the second party posts their confirmation on the league's trade board that they agree to this trade?

If there's also a distinction between what is officially a trade and what is just good manners, please point that out. That is, is it wrong to back out of a trade once terms have been agreed to being acceptable, but not yet posted?

In the past I've just gone and done it to avoid any issues, but I think it's time I get others' opinions.
