I did another couple of runs to test this, including one where I checked the adjust league totals and lock totals boxes on opening day in year 1 after clicking auto-calc. It does look like it's creating a cycle, but that's still too much variation for me. I'd prefer not to have different eras of hitting/pitching strength.
