I can also safely say I put more than 200 hours into non sports games like WOW, LOTRO, Half Life, Mount and Blade, and others.
2) Again, I don't see anywhere at all where he portrayed himself as an "expert". I have no reason to take sides in this, but you are coming across as angry/annoyed at someone about something that isn't a big deal. If you don't like what he's writing here, don't read the thread. Pretty simple really. I have no issues with you or him, just to be clear. Just pointing out what I see.

I think it's clear that you're probably more of a hardcore gamer. This thread was never intended for you. It was intended as a "future reference for newbies", his words, from a player with over 200 hours experience. If I was a new user, I'd think this guy knew what he was talking about.
I certainly could have simply ignored this thread but as someone who cares about this community, I had to comment on it after I read the content. All I said was that new members shouldn't use this because it was inaccurate and I was asked to elaborate, which I did. When a scientist publishes findings, the scientific community shouldn't just accept it or ignore it. It gets scrutinized because they value truth. Obviously, we are not a scientific community, but the same principle applies.

You may want to take some of those to the new player thread and see if you get any responses.

True, he didn't explicitly say it was a guide, but he did say it was a "reference for newbies". It's kind of the same thing in my opinion.
