The AI doesn't know how to use two way players. Markus had an interview this year where he talked about that, specifically in reference to Ohtani. The thing is, two way players are *exceedingly* rare in the major leagues and there's a really good argument that, Ohtani or no, spending a lot of time getting the AI to use these once-every-third-generation players (I mean, other than Ohtani and Babe Ruth, these guys are more like gimmick type players a la Brooks Kieschnick) is taking time away from fixing things that really matter at best and adding something that might screw up the AI for the overwhelming majority of players who just aren't good enough to play both ways at worst.
