Educated guess on my part. So I may be wrong. I'd find it hard to square the logic of a bunt rating being independent of contact. A poor avoid K rating means your outs are often K's so the combination doesn't leave any room for many bunt hits.
IRL Anthony Gose is an example. If he could bunt he could hit 0.320+ but he cannot make contact and does strikeout often.
