AROUND THE HORN...
New ballpark:
NEW YORK YANKEES
Honda Field at New Yankees Stadium
The House that Ruth built is still there, only the field, luxury boxes and concourses have been renovated and updated. This modern stadium within an older ballpark should prove interesting to fans coming to games. However, outrage over razing the park altogether caused this alternative. Nonetheless, the $600 million upgrade shouldn't hurt fans interesting in seeing games.
GOING TOTALLY RETRO
The Raleigh Blue Stripes and Sacramento Athletics will play two games in Kansas City this season. The arrangement was setup in lieu of the clubs playing interleague games this season, since there is an uneven number in the leagues until 2015, when the National League will expand.
"We're excited about both of Kansas City's old clubs returning "home" to play two games. The dates have annoyed some fans who are upset the clubs moved, but nonetheless should sellout.
The Blue Stripes will wear KC Royals uniforms and the A's will toat the road uniforms of the Kansas City Athletics.
