Question Your Experience with Selecting All-Stars?

Because of Pierre's great new all-star player selector utility (see http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...threadid=39117), the CBL is looking to have our GMs select our all-star teams this season. However, before we decide on the process I wanted to see what the experience of other leagues was who select their all-star teams. How best do you think it is to go about it? Some questions I raised in our forum were:

1) Should all players be eligible, or just those who meet a minimum criteria like PAs or innings played (a fielding stat) for batters and BFs or innings pitched for pitchers, or should they have to be nominated somehow?

2) If it should be a minimum criteria, what should the minimum # be per game or per 162 game season (please specify what stat you mean for that #)?

3) Should the entire league select players for both leagues or just their own league? I think only their own league as you could try to select bad players for the other league.

If there are any other issues we should look into, please bring them up.

TIA
