GAME 9 - WORLD SERIES

PORTLAND - Going for the three-peat, the Ems weren't sure what to expect. After all, they'd been down in this series non-stop and few expected this new version of the Emeralds had the luster of the old clubs.

Boy, were they wrong. Down 7-6 in the bottom of the 7th, the Ems lit up Pittsburgh for four runs. Delmon Young, World Series MVP had two doubles and 3 RBI. Ben Hauser was 3-4 with 4 runs scored.

The Ems tacked on other run in the bottom of the eighth. Tom O'Rear came on for the save and successfully clinched a third straight World Series title for the Oregon Emeralds.
