I play every game one-pitch, and have won 2 World Series in a row... I've seen some superstar players crash and burn, Justin Verlander just hasn't been the same for me since he tore his rotator cuff, but hey - that's life. I chose Jose Reyes with my 2nd round pick in the inaugural draft, at about $20 mill a year. Now he's regressed to the point after 3 seasons that as a free agent, he's asking 1.3 mill and there's no takers. But you know, this baseball world of mine went on a different tangent from real-life since the beginning -- and that's the randomness of this game that I love.
As for the game crashing, I lost about a month's worth of play due to a crash and now I'm the poster child for backup. I backup my game *every day* and also move the data files and backups to different devices/locations as well. It's a few minutes of extra effort that are well worth it. OOTP certainly isn't perfect, but what is? I love it, and compared to the OOTP 3 that I started on - it's light years ahead
