The players I was referring to were the ones that generate at the beginning of free agency each year...who are, without fail, terrible. The ones your scout finds in season are significantly better, although a mixed bag. The majority of the time, they're worthless. But maybe once every year you'll find a player with a little potential, and every once in a long while you can strike some fantastic talent. In my current MLB quickstart I've played about 40 seasons; I've found three guys who went on to become superstars, and quite a few more who went on to productive careers. Bottom line: you'll find a lot of junk, but there'll be just enough to keep you spending a lot on your international scouting.
