I think that there are a lot of potential "closet" players who somehow feel that they can't play the game (or any other "game") because it will reflect on them as adults/fathers/husbands. One of my in-laws made a comment on this "Baseball thing" it's called and my wife happily commented, "at least I know where he is on Saturdays and Sundays".
I'm not sure whether to be happy or embarrassed about that.
